Daucus carota sativa root extract is obtained by macerating fresh carrot roots. INCI: Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract. Contains carotenoids (beta-carotene, lutein), flavonoids and vitamins A, C, E. In cosmetics it works as an antioxidant and pro-vitamin A. Unlike retinol (pure vitamin A), carrot extract gives a mild action without flaking. The formula turns orange-yellow. Use levels run from 0.5 to 5%. Pregnancy safety. Topically safe.
