Synthetic liquid hydrocarbon with controlled molecular weight. A clean alternative to mineral oil – free of aromatic-hydrocarbon traces.

Inert emollient. Safe, no skin activity.
Hydrogenated Polydecene is a synthetic hydrocarbon emollient produced by hydrogenation of polymerized α-olefin decene. A clear, low-viscosity liquid – odorless, colorless, chemically inert, oxidation-resistant, and stable across a wide temperature and pH range. In cosmetics, it is used at 1–30% as a substitute for silicones and mineral oils: provides a light, slippery feel, absorbs quickly, and leaves the skin soft without stickiness or greasy shine. Found in creams, lotions, serums, facial oils, primers, foundations, leave-on hair products, and sunscreens. Particularly valued in formulations for oily and combination skin, with a comedogenic rating of 0–1 (low comedogenicity). It does not penetrate deeply into the epidermis – it works on the surface as an occlusive, reducing transepidermal water loss. Safe in pregnancy and breastfeeding, does not cause contact dermatitis or allergy, and is suitable for sensitive and atopic skin. A plant-derived-alternative ingredient when there is mineral oil intolerance or an ethical preference against petrochemicals.
