INCI: Polydeoxyribonucleotide
Salmon DNA fragments with molecular weight 50–1500 kDa. Activate purinergic receptors, stimulating angiogenesis and regeneration. Topical application is limited by molecular size.
Topical application
DVery weak or conflicting data.
Topical application has no clinically confirmed efficacy due to the inability of these large molecules to cross the epidermal barrier. PDRN creams may provide surface moisturization as formula excipients, but not through specific PDRN activity.
Injectable
BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
Intradermal PDRN injections for photoaging and atrophic scars are supported by several RCTs and prospective studies. Improvements in skin hydration, tone, and dermal density have been demonstrated. Allergic potential is minimal – salmon protein is absent in purified formulations.
Irritation potential
LowAllergen risk
LowPregnancy
UnknownSuitable for
Safety data for Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) during pregnancy is insufficient. Best avoided when in doubt.
